J. FRANCISCO SERRANO | 2021

RDCH STUDIO has developed a documentation project for renowned architect J. Francisco Serrano (1937 - ). The aim was to build an extended, multimedia archive examining the legacy of the Mexican architect and INBA's Bellas Artes Medal Prize-winner. Ruiz de Chávez considers both Serrano's professional and personal archives, and how the intersections of his official and private selves reveal divergent and aligned interests. The project analyzes six decades of the architect's work from a contemporary perspective, digitizing and curating photography, video, architectural plans, documents and technical files of +100 projects in Mexico and abroad. The result of this research process has been published in two websites, one for the architecture firm Serrano Arquitectos and the other as a digital testimony of the majestic work of J. Francisco Serrano.
